From Don Hardy:
Don was an outstanding individual at all phases of his life. He was a savior to me as a
[West Point] plebe and made our company and its denizens into a hard-working but
relaxed team. This book has helped me recall many fine memories of time at the
Academy. Well written and illuminating.
By Rebecca Michaud:
My interest is in autobiography and historical fiction; this book has both. It was interesting
to learn about his life as a young person and at West Point. The football games described
gave insight into the person as well as the many quotes included with the factual
information. His life and death in Vietnam were touching and inspirational. Mr. Tibbetts has
a unique and successful style of writing that includes quotes to emphasize a specific point
in Don's life. I rate this wonderful book a 5—an excellent read for anyone interested in
sports, life stories, and Vietnam.

From Grace52, Don’s cousin:
A remarkable story about a great man; a must-read. Our family has always known what a
special person Don was. Now we are happy to share memories of him so that all
Americans can feel proud of him and the many other patriots who have put country and
honor above all else. Thank you, Terry, for your remarkable telling of a life ended too soon. I
know how much time, love, and research you put into this book.
[This book is] for every parent of a teenager. [The] story is rapid, enjoyable, and
enlightening to read. The author welds details with facts, military records with oral history,
and culminates with a researcher’s greatest asset...a profound search for the truth. The
greatest example of Mr.Tibbetts’s professionalism is his definitive exposure of the ambush
at Org Thanh. For a parent with a teenager, I shout, “Read it first. Then pass it on to a
